Week Seven: Day Six
First Degree Murder
This is the first of the Big 10 that’s actually become law in our country! It’s not illegal to worship false gods, or use God’s name as a swear word. But murder – You’ll do life for that!!!
You’ve probably never murdered anyone, but that doesn’t mean that you should just ignore this commandment!
When Jesus was talking about murder He said that “if you are angry with a brother or sister, you will be judged.” (Matthew 5 v 22). Have you ever hated someone so much that you wished they were dead? Or been so angry that you’ve wanted to batter them senseless?
If you have – it’s like having murder in your heart! Murder always starts with anger and hatred. Make sure that you don’t let either become part of your life – it’ll just mess you up, and wreck your friendship with God!
Remember, God’s always there to forgive you and help you deal with your anger!
